Time Management and Keeping a Realistic Perspective When Dealing with Multiple Projects
Be careful what you wish for. There are instances when the Textbroker circuit will remain quite slow only for a writer to suddenly receive a monumental number of orders. Although this is great from a financial point of view, it can often be challenging in terms of logistics and sheer willpower. How can you efficiently manage your time while maintaining a realistic overview during the tasks at hand?
Clearly Outline Your Goals
Would you ever climb a mountain without knowing where your footholds were located? Consider every day of writing similar to a digital content journey. Have a game plan in place from the very beginning. As Intuit QuickBooks notes, outlining your goals will help to establish a realistic time frame. It is also much easier to break tasks down into more easily digestible “blocks” in order to avoid feeling overwhelmed.
First Things First
Prioritise your orders according to their due dates as well as their projected completion times. It is best to tackle more complicated projects earlier in the day when your mind is still sharp. Generic content can be addressed (while never sacrificing quality) during the interim. A good way to analyse your tasks is to segment them into one of three categories:
- Orders that are both urgent and important.
- Orders that are important but of a lower priority.
- Orders that are not pertinent and easy to complete.
There are times when this level of pragmatism will provide you with a clearer picture of how to address a heavy workload.
Do Away with the Distractions
Needless distractions can represent formidable enemies to even the most seasoned Textbroker authors. Writer and blogger Jennifer Blanchard notes that there are several ways to avoid these tempting demons:
- Place your mobile phone out of reach.
- Close your email.
- Choose a specific location where you will not be disturbed.
- Employ binaural beats or white noise to boost your concentration.
Most importantly, be sure to take breaks from time to time. Burning the candle at both ends will result in nothing more than substandard material and higher revision rates. Many Textbroker authors embrace the challenges associated with high-volume writing. Still, we all have limitations that need to be recognised. Never forget that our expert centre is here to help and much-needed advice is just around the corner.
