Why Client Feedback is Essential to an Author
“The deepest principle of human nature is the craving to be appreciated.”
– William James
Successfully completing an article is a very rewarding experience even for the most seasoned of writers. Still, authors are always hoping to receive additional feedback from a client. Anyone who may have consulted with a professional editor in the past is well aware of the benefits that such interactions can provide. It is also crucial to mention that any criticism (constructive or otherwise) will result in more targeted future results; ideal for those clients who have specific desires. In some ways, we can envision client feedback as daily sustenance. A writer cannot grow without its presence.
The Interpersonal Aspect of Content Creation
Textbroker authors (or any author for that matter) are not machines nor do they gain satisfaction from the sheer number of orders they complete. Any writer will attest to the fact that positive praise from a client adds a real sense of pleasure to the process; helping to ensure quality content. In order words, we are all motivated by the desire to please others as well as ourselves.
The Growth Factor
As The Huffington Post points out, feedback helps writers hone their talents. Similar to sharpening a knife, client comments enable writers to remain “on point” at all times. This is even more relevant in terms of constructive criticism. Authors learn just as much from negative feedback as they do as a result of copious praise from a job well done; perhaps more in some cases. This type of insight is therefore crucial in order to guarantee top-shelf content in the future.
All About the Motivation
It can often be difficult for writers to unearth the motivation required to complete numerous tasks within a demanding time frame. Any type of feedback clearly illustrates that the customer appreciates the associated effort (for better or for worse). In turn, the author will strive to meet the same level of satisfaction or to improve his or her techniques based upon these very same responses.
It takes only a few moments for a client to provide his or her opinion and yet, even a short statement can have a massive impact upon the writer in question. A brief commitment will go a long way.
